Police hunt for park robbery gang

A GANG of five men hit a man over the back of the head before stealing cash and his keys in a Kent park.

The 30-year-old victim was walking through Gillingham's Great Lines Park when the robbery took place.

The gang restrained him and emptied his pockets before threatening him and trying to force him to walk with them to a cash machine and withdraw money.

The victim managed to escape and called police before any more cash could be stolen.

One of the gang is described as white, around 6ft 2in tall, of skinny build with short blonde hair. He was wearing light grey tracksuit bottoms, a black T-shirt and a black tracksuit top.

Another was white, aged about 25, 5ft 9in tall, with short brown hair. He wore a blue tracksuit with a small white logo on the front of the jacket.

A third was described as white, aged around 14, 5ft 8in tall, with short scruffy blonde hair. He was wearing dark-grey tracksuit bottoms, a red T-shirt with white stripes and a grey hooded jacket.

Det Const Melanie Riddell said: ""e are looking into the possibility that this offence was captured on CCTV."
