AN APPEAL has been launched to find a man suspected of stealing an antique clock.

Police have released an efit of a man believed to have taken the clock from an antiques shop in Royal Parade, Chislehurst, on Sunday, March 9 at about 1.25pm.

It is believed the theif hid the clock under his jacket.

He was disturbed by the shop owner and ran off, dropping the clock on the way before picking it up and running down Church Street.

The man is aged about 50, about 6ft 6in tall, with short dark brown hair parted at the left and was wearing a black leather jacket, black trousers and black shoes.

He has a scar down his face running horizontally from his cheek to his ear.

The clock is an eight inch tall black and gold James Grohe English Mantel Timepiece worth about £10,000.
