Police called to 'sudden death' in Strood

Police found a body after being called to a house in Strood.

Emergency services were called to the house on Cross Street around 4pm yesterday.

Police and one fire engine plus a specialist vehicle from Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended. Following a search of the property a body was discovered.

Fire crews then left the scene at 5.20pm while police remained outside the house.

Witnesses reported seeing a forensic van and police officers at the address.

A spokesman for Kent Police said the incident was a 'sudden death' and could not comment any further at this time.

The death is not believed to be suspicious.
