Grain Road is closed after a serious crash

A 55-year old motorcyclist has been killed after being reportedly struck by a lorry.

The accident happened at 8.15am on Monday on the the B2001, Isle of Grain.

The collision involved a white Volvo Tipper lorry and a green and white Kawasaki motorcycle.

Paramedics onboard Kent Air Ambulance battled to save the biker, but he died at the scene.

One eyewitness, said: "My wife was taking the children to school and had to turn back because, with the road closed, there is no way out of the village."

The cause of the crash is being investigated by Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit. Witnesses are asked to call PC Lorraine Silvester on 01622 798538.
