A GUN was held to a man’s head following a row over a cheeseburger.

The barrel of the pistol was held to Alex Morris’ forehead but he pushed it away and grabbed a phone to call the police while others held on to the gunman.

Police arrested Glen Smith, 41, of St Vincent’s Close, Whitstable, who was jailed for two years having admitted having a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

James Bilsland, prosecting, told Canterbury Crown Court that weeks before the incident, Smith had been involved in row with staff at the Charcoal Grill in Whitstable over a cheque.

On the night of November 11, Smith went into the shop and asked for a cheeseburger. The food was handed over and Smith was asked for £3.50.

He then produced a .177 BB Calibre Gamo powered pistol from his pocket and held the barrel to Mr Morris’ forehead.

Jailing Smith, Judge Nigel van der Bijl said there was still no explanation for Smith’s actions.
