A lorry loaded with packets of soup was gutted by fire on the M20 on Tuesday night.

The truck was travelling London-bound between junctions 2 and 3, near Wrotham Hill, just after 8pm when the blaze broke out.

Fire crews from Larkfield, Halling and Dartford attended the scene.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said nobody was hurt and the cause is thought to be engine failure.

The spokesman added: "There appeared to be some pallets saved." So at least some of the soup can still be eaten!
