Pensioner's purse taken in distraction burglary

POLICE are appealing for information following a burglary in which an elderly woman had her purse stolen.

The incident occurred in Quaker Lane, Cranbrook, on Wednesday between 5.15pm and 5.45pm.

The victim, in her 70s, was in her kitchen when she became aware of a man and a young boy aged about five standing in the doorway.

After he had gone the woman realised her purse was missing from her handbag that was in the kitchen.

The man is described as white, aged 30, 5ft 8in with dark hair.

He was wearing a white top with different coloured sleeves. The young boy was wearing a yellow top.
