Pedestrian left seriously injured after traffic accident

A young man remains critical in hospital four days after being knocked over in an accident.

The incident occurred at around 11.25pm last Friday on Canterbury Street, Gillingham.

The pedestrian, a man in his twenties, was on the right hand side of Canterbury Street when it is reported that he was in collision with a blue Vauxhall Corsa.

The man fell to the ground and sustained a head injury and broken wrist.

He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital where his condition is described as life threatening.

The officer in charge, Ian Malcolm said:"Clearly this is a serious incident in which severe injuries have been sustained.

"In order to assist with this investigation we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to contact us."
