A PEDESTRIAN who died in hospital from head injuries after being struck by a car while crossing the road near the Lockmeadow Leisure Complex in Maidstone has been named by police.

He was 55-year-old gym club assistant Michael Franklin who was employed at the nearby David Lloyd Health and Fitness Club. He lived at Bramley Rise, Strood.

The accident happened on Friday, May 19, in Barker Road and involved a silver Vauxhall Vectra.
