Passing motorist finds dying pedal cyclist

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist who was found lying injured on the ground later died in hospital.

The victim has been named as John Williams, from Hawkinge, near Folkestone. He was 73.

Mr Williams was found by a passing motorist in Sandling Road, Postling, near Hythe, at about 1.40pm on Tuesday.

He was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford with serious injuries and failed to regain consciousness.

Acting media officer Phil Harvey-Hendley said: "Police would like to hear from anyone who may have driven through the scene but who were unable to stop at the time and give their details to Police."
