Passengers delayed by fire at Gravesend railway station

Train passengers were delayed last night after a blaze at Gravesend railway station.

Seven fire engines were called to the scene, in Rathmore Road, at about 8.40pm.

A small fire in cabling under a train was extinguished by crews working with rail engineers.

Buses were used to transport stranded passengers from Ebbsfleet to Gravesend.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Fire crews were at the scene until 9.25pm.
