Angry parents of children who failed to gain a place at any of the four schools they chose, are to meet with the leader of Kent County Council.

Paul Carter has agreed to talk to the parents whose children go to Madginford Primary School, Bearsted, in an effort to solve the issue which was exclusively highlighted in Friday's Kent Messenger. According to parents, 35 out of the 94 children going onto secondary education have failed to get a place of their choice.

Cllr Carter said 78 per cent of parents got their first choice school and 95 per cent were successful in getting one of their four choices.

He said: "However, that is no consolation to the parents at Magingford."
