THE county's paramedics are bracing themselves for a festive influx of unnecessary calls.

Kent Ambulance Trust is urging people to call the NHS Direct helpline or go to the hospital instead.

Some callers have even demanded numbers of takeaway restaurants and one woman asked for a crew to sit with her during a thunder storm.
