Kent sports lovers have a second chance to buy tickets to see
international athletes when Paralympics tickets go on sale
today.

For the hundreds of thousands who missed out on London 2012
tickets the ticket offer is a chance to see elite athletes in
action - with an event in Kent!

The 2012 games will run from August 29 until Sept 9 at various
venues across the UK.

Several Kent hopefuls will be aiming to bring home a medal,
including Folkestone-based Gurkha Lance Corporal Netra Rana
(pictured below).

The 32-year-old lost his leg after he
was caught up in a bomb blast while on patrol in Kandahar in
2008.

Three years later, he plays sitting volleyball for Team GB and
is urging everyone to show their support for the 2012 games.

He said: "Those people who are doing these events, they have
suffered in their day to day lives and that's something completely
different for people to go and watch."

"If people buy the tickets for the Paralympics then we can help
all the different types of sport in the country and we can build up
more sports in the coming future."

There will even be a chance to catch an event right here in Kent
as Brands Hatch will be hosting our county's only Olympic
event - the Paralympic Road Cycling Competition.

From September 5-8 2012, around 225 disabled athletes from 40
nations will race around the course before taking to the
surrounding local roads to battle it out to the finish.

You can apply for tickets on the London 2012 website or you
could just turn up to be a spectator on the roadside for free.
