Pair quizzed over street attack

TWO people are being questioned by police following an assault which resulted in two men being hurt.

Officers were called to High Street, Rochester, shortly before 2.30am on Sunday to investigate reports of a disturbance.

Two people were arrested in connection with the incident.

The injured pair were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment.

A police spokesman said their injuries were not serious.

Police closed nearby roads during their early-morning investigation into the incident.

Insp. Mark Holt said: "Some roads were closed to allow officers to search for items that may have been used and to help officers with their investigation."

Roads were reopened shortly after 6.20am.
