Pair charged over beach stabbing

Two men have been charged in connection with a seafront stabbing in a Kent town.

Robert Augustus Logan, 33, of Grotto Hill, has been charged with GBH, wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

He and another man, William Hunter, 29, also of Grotto Hill, have been jointly charged with affray.

A 24 year old woman, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in connection with the incident, has been released on bail until Monday, September 15.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, is in a stable condition at Margate's Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother hospital.

He was attacked close to the Victoria jubilee clock tower at around 5.30pm on Monday.

A police spokesman said that the knifing followed "an altercation" at nearby Marine Terrace.
