It’s been a disappointing week, to say the least. The 4-0 defeat at Brentford was obviously a blow and then the Tranmere result on Tuedsay night was really hard to take.

Both were games in which we expected to take points. We started the Brentford game really well and could have been a couple of goals up before they got their first penalty.

I think it was the second penalty which in the end proved costly. I dont think anyone in the ground deemed Kevin Maher tackle a penalty other than the referee. That made the game 2-0 and gave us a mountain to climb which is difficult at the best of times but even harder when we’ve been having a tough time on the road this season.

The fourth and last goal summed up the day as theshot cannoned off the post and hit AJ’s back before squirming in.

We then faced Tranmere on Tuesday in a big game against a team around us in the league. We believed if we played like we can we could easily get the three points but the game turned out to be a scrappy affair.

Both teams struggled to find much rhythm or creativity and it looked like it would turn out to be stalemate.

Unfortunately, they managed to score a scrappy goal. I felt sorry for AJ. After making about three great saves, the ball still fell to their striker for an easy tap-in.

We managed to respond pretty well and had a couple of chances to equalise but we couldn’t take any of them.

You guys were understandably upset at the final whistle and the boys know we have to improve and start competing at the level we know we can because we don’t want to be where we are in the league.

I’m positive, though, that if we all stick together we can come through this poor patch the other side and finish the season well.

We have a long trip to Yeovil this weekend to face a team we have beaten already this season.

We are going to turn our away form around sooner or later and this weekend
is a good chance to do that.

They had a good 4-1 win at Wycombe on Saturday so we know it will be tough but we are positive.

On a personal note, its been frustrating time for me. After being left out against Walsall, I picked up a groin strain in the reserve game in midweek last week and haven’t trained since.

I’m hoping to train toward the end of this week, though, to be available for Yeovil. I’m desperate to get out there again and if my chance arrives, I’m determined to take it.
Stay with us, we’ll be doing our best to turn things around this weekend.
