No injuries as train jumps tracks

NO-ONE was hurt when an empty train derailed within Gillingham's train depot yesterday afternoon. Minor disruption was caused to passengers as it took a few hours to return the train to its tracks.

A spokesman for Railtrack said: "A train derailed within the depot at 3pm and re-railing was complete by about 7.20pm."

Connex staff at Gillingham Station confirmed that the train derailment had taken place, but it had not affected the normal running of trains to and from Gillingham. The incident is being investigated.
