Nightclub stabbing: man charged

A MAN has been charged with malicious wounding with intent after a stabbing at Merlin's nightclub in Leysdown on Sheppey at the weekend.

The victim, 19-year-old Neil Probet, was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital following the attack in the Leysdown Road club shortly after 7pm on Sunday, but was later allowed home.

Police arrived at the nightclub within minutes of the incident but the suspect had already left the club.

A 50-year-old suspect from Leysdown Road, Leysdown, was traced to a pub in nearby Minster where he was arrested and later charged.
