Night-clubber horror: hunt goes on

DETECTIVES are today still hunting a car driver who ran over a collapsed night-clubber twice outside the Deja Vu nightclub in Swanley.

Three men chased the victim on foot outside the club in London Road at around 1.50am on Saturday following a fight.

When the victim collapsed on the grass verge 200 yards away one of the gang was seen returning to the club and leaving in a dark blue saloon car.

The driver came back and trampled the body of the helpless victim under his wheels.

Police are now appealing for members of the public who were in the club for help with their inquiry into what officers describe as an attempted murder.

The victim, who has not been named, is in a serious condition in intensive care in Queen Mary Hospital in Sidcup and has multiple injuries.

DI Dave Brittan said: "We want to talk to anyone who was inside the club and witnessed an altercation. They might be able to help us build up a detailed description of the three men we are looking for.

"We are also asking clubbers or anyone passing the club in a car at around 2am on Saturday to come forward to help us identify the car used in this horrendous attack."

The man driving the car was described as white, around 5ft 9ins. He was wearing a heavy gold neck chain. He had short dark hair cut with a distinctive bar code pattern.

His victim was wearing a long-sleeved white and brown shirt and baggy trousers.

Anyone with information should contact DI Brittan at North Kent Police on 01322 283154 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
