The news comes in tandem with an announcement confirming that service intervals for the new bike will be 7,500 miles or 12 months – at least after an important initial 600-mile service.

At its international launch journalists sang the bike’s praises, and in particular its agility and smoothness, helping to make this one of Suzuki’s most sought-after bikes of recent years.

Early production bikes had been doing the rounds up and down the UK to allow potential buyers to get on and test it for themselves, but full-production machines are on their way to dealers.

Suzuki GB General Manager Paul de Lusignan announced the bike's availability. "We were delighted with the feedback the new V-Strom 1000 received at its worldwide press launch last month,” he said.

“And even more importantly, we've been really encouraged by feedback from potential customers who have been able to take advanced test rides on our recent nationwide dealer tour.

“This is clearly a highly-anticipated and eagerly-awaited bike, not just for customers but for Suzuki, too, and we're looking forward to customers being able to get their hands on it from next month."
