Clubbers in Thanet will be helped home safely now a new 'night bus' has been launched.

The evening service, run by Ramsgate-based Eastonways and organised by the Thanet Community Safety Partnership, will stop at various points in Broadstairs, Cliftonville, Margate, Westwood and Ramsgate.

All journeys will cost £2 and the bus can be flagged down anywhere along its route.

Jessica Bailey, community safety coordinator, said: "We think the night bus will really help to keep people safe and hopefully reduce the potential for crime.

"However, it's something that we're doing on a trial basis and we now need people to use it, otherwise we won't be able to continue with the service."

The bus will operate between 11pm and 3am on Friday and Saturday nights until early September.
