New police HQ given the go-ahead

COUNCILLORS have given plans for a new police headquarters in Medway the green light.

Planning consent has been granted for the five-storey building at the entrance to Chatham Maritime.

It will replace stations in Rainham, Rochester and Chatham in a bid to secure more efficient and cost-effective policing.
