Neighbours of an alleged crack house in Ramsgate had to endure people shouting for drugs, doors being kicked down and a violent assault with a baseball bat.

The people who came forward to give evidence have been praised by the police officer who led an investigation which bought the shutters down on the property.

People living next door to 53 Brunswick Street had to endure up to 50 people visiting the property in a single day. At its peak, residents noted up to 20 people entering the flat in just one hour.

PC Sue Luck said: “The comings and goings at the address have caused great distress and have led to health problems for some.

“No one should have to endure that and I am grateful to them for all they have done.”

The Isle of Thanet Extra was given access to the property after it was raided by officers serving a misuse of drugs warrant.
