Candle-lit vigils were held after a baby suffered multiple injuries in Gravesend

A pony-tailed man has appeared in court today after a month-old baby suffered serious injuries in Gravesend.

Nathan Rawling, of St Gregory's Crescent, Gravesend, is charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent on December 1 last year.

The 35-year-old spoke only to confirm his details at Maidstone Crown Court this morning.

He is due to enter a plea to the charge at a hearing at the same court on Monday, July 16.

Rawling was released on conditional bail.

A 34-year-old woman arrested over the incident was released without charge earlier this month.

The baby has made a full recovery.
