Mystery of pub customer's head injuries

DETECTIVES remain baffled as to how a 32-year-old man found unconscious in the street with a serious head injury came to be there.

An ambulance was called after the man was spotted outside the Angel public house in North Street, Strood, at about 3.15pm on Thursday.

The victim was taken to Kings College Hospital in London. His condition on Sunday night was described by doctors as “serious but stable”.

Det Insp Mike Morgan said; “We know the man had been drinking in the Angel before he was found and we are trying to find out how he came to be injured.

“We are asking for anyone who may have been in the pub, or have any information that may help us establish what happened, to contact police at Medway.”

Anyone with information should contact Medway Police on 01634 884141 or the confidential Crimestoppers freephone number 0800 555111.
