Murder probe after pedestrian's road death

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a pedestrian struck by a car.

The victim has been named as Michael Prichard, 49, a former Eurotunnel worker, who lived at Park Avenue in Dover. It is understood he was the father of three children.

Mr Pritchard was hit near the end of the Prince's Parade in Seabrook where it meets the main Seabrook Road at around 5pm Saturday.

He was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford - but later died of his injuries.

Police have confirmed a 46-year-old Dover man arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed pending further investigations.

The road was closed for around nine hours after the incident.
