Murder investigation launched after woman found dead in Oakwood Avenue Bromley

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead.

Emergency services were called at 11pm last night to a residential address in Bromley.

The woman, who police believe is 61-year-old Diane Dyer, was found unresponsive and suffering from head injuries.

She was pronounced dead at the scene in Oakwood Avenue, Beckenham.

The discovery has sparked officers to launch a murder investigation and a post-mortem will be carried out later.

Next-of-kin have been informed and detectives from Specialist Crime are looking into the death.

DCI Mark Cranwell said: “This is a tragic incident and we are supporting Diane’s family at this difficult time.

"I would like to reassure the community this is thought to be an isolated incident and we believe Diane knew her attacker.

"My officers are working around the clock to apprehend the person responsible, however we also need the public’s help."

A man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
