VICTIM: Mark Witherall

THE jury in the trial of four people accused of killing Kent father Mark Witherall has retired to consider verdicts.

Mark Elliott, 21, his girlfriend Carley Firminger, 20, both of Sandpiper Road, Whitstable, Curtis Delima, 19, of Regent Street and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, all deny murder.

The boy and Delima admitted conspiracy to burgle the house, while Elliott denied the charge.

Maidstone Crown Court heard that Mr Witherall, 47, was attacked after his home in King Edward Street, Whitstable was burgled on January 27 last year.

He was left seriously injured outside in the road. He was taken to hospital with brain damage and died about six weeks later.
