A mother is celebrating the birth of her third child - her second to be born in the toilet.

Krystal Yvonne Linsdell, who is just five days old, was born after mum Teresa was sent home from the William Harvey Hospital having been told she still had a few days to go.

The 24-year-old said: "They did all their usual bits and said nothing would happen that night so I went home but obviously they were wrong. I got home at 10pm and then three and half hours later I gave birth. I felt as though I needed to be in the toilet a bit confused and not really knowing what was happening and suddenly she was there."

The Bluebell Close resident added: "I wasn't scared at the time, my instincts took over and then I was scared. We didn't need to go to the hospital until the day after when she received her checks."

It was a shock for dad Aaron who was in bed at the time.

The 30-year-old said: "The first thing I knew was that she was crying and shouting my name but obviously the toilet is so small I couldn't open the door so I had to pass her the phone so she could explain what had happened to the ambulance. She was so brave and basically did everything herself, I'm so proud of her.

"I didn't hear a thing while she was giving birth, even the neighbours didn't know what had happened until the next day. I basically just looked after our other two children as things we're getting quite hectic."

For nan Glynnis it was a case of deja vu having helped her daughter give birth to Alexis, now four-years-old, in her own bathroom in 2007.

The 51-year-old (pictured top left), who ran to her daughter's aid in her pyjamas, said: "It was a similar scenario. She'd been to the hospital and both times they said you've got a fair way to go. They sent her home and she came round to me and she had a bath and when she got out her waters had broke, got out of the floor and Lexy was born two seconds later."

The Gillingham FC fan, whose other granddaughter Analice is six years old, added: "I thought something similar was going to happen but they assured us nothing was going to happen. Myself and my husband were in bed and the phone went off and she said, she's here and I just though oh no, not again."
