MP visitor to school arts week

Young artists in Birchington impressed North Thanet MP Roger Gale when he visited to help celebrate the village primary school’s arts week.

He chatted with children who were engrossed in their colourful creations, admired the inventive displays, enjoyed the wildlife garden, and met the school council, who asked him about his 25 years as an MP and about life in the House of Commons.

Mr Gale invited them to visit the House and see for themselves later in the year.

The MP was shown around the school by head teacher Kath Barham, family liaison officer Lesley Green and learning mentor Meg Carpenter, and he ended his visit with a short talk to the whole school assembly.
