Those attending the funeral wore a variety of colours and many carried floral tributes.

One read: "A wonderful young woman robbed of her life, loved by all, will be greatly missed but not forgotten. Jennie is still with us in our hearts now and forever."

Ms Banner was found strangled at her flat in Five Ways Court, Chatham High Street, in August.

A post mortem revealed she died of compression of the neck.

Marcus Coates, 43, of Ernest Road, Chatham, has been charged with her murder. He has been remanded in custody until November 4, when he is due to enter a plea at Maidstone Crown Court. A provisional trial date has been set for January 23.
