Motorcyclist dies after hitting parked car

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after his Suzuki hit a parked Range Rover in Cliftonville, near Margate. Police say the rider was in his 30s and comes from Margate.

He was thrown from the machine when it hit the stationery vehicle in Northdown Road near the junction with Edgar Road at about 9.20pm on Tuesday night. A police spokeswoman said: “The rider was treated at the scene by paramedics. He was taken to the Queen Mother Hospital at Margate where he was pronounced dead at 10.30pm. We have no idea what cause the fatal accident.”

The man's identity has not yet been released. Witnesses are being sought. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Richard Lawton of Thanet police on 01843 222124.
