Moped rider attacked with his own helmet

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a teenager was attacked with his own crash helmet.

The 18-year-old was riding his in Lower Road, Minster, near Sheerness, at about 7.30pm on Sunday, March 20, when a Lexus car allegedly overtook him and clipped his bike.

The teenager managed to get the driver to stop but the Lexus driver then became aggressive, removed the teenager’s helmet and struck him with it, causing bruising to the youngster’s face before making off at speed towards Leysdown.

Police believe there may have been several witnesses to the incident. They are asked to contact Crimestoppers, in confidence on 0800 555111 or Swale Police on 01795 477055.
