Mongol Rally - Claire's charity adventure

A one litre Nissan Micra car is about to make the longest journey of its life.

The 12-year-old vehicle set off from Hyde Park in London on Saturday to embark on a 10,000 mile journey to Mongolia.

Behind the wheel is Claire Rossato, from Stoke Road, All Hallows. The 26-year-old and her two friends Neil Sullivan and Jody Gore bought the car for £1,000 off eBay so they could take part in the Mongol Rally and raise money for the charity Hopes and Homes for Children.

The trio’s four week journey will take them through Germany, Prague, Slovenia, Slovakia, the Ukraine, Romania, Kazakhstan and Russia with their journey ending in the capital of Mongolia - Ulaanbaatar.

Once they reach their destination their car will be sold and the money donated to their chosen charity. All three of them will then make their way to South Korea before flying home on August 28.

Claire and her friends have raised £1,500 in sponsorship so far but are in desperate need of raising more cash.
