Missing woman found by police helicopter crew

A POLICE helicopter patrol found a missing woman wandering in a playing field near her home in the early hours of this morning.

The husband of the 76-year-old woman alerted Kent police at around 4.40am to say she had disappeared from their home in St Crispin’s Road, Westgate, near Margate.

Police searched the immediate area and the seafront. They called for help from the Surrey force and their helicopter arrived just before 6am.

Officers on board spotted the woman in the school playing field at about 6.40am.

She was suffering from hypothermia and taken to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital at Margate where at 9am she was reported to be in a stable condition.
