Kent sides occupy the bottom two places in the Ryman League Premier Division after Tuesday night's action.

Maidstone United are rock-bottom with five points from 10 games after their seventh defeat of the campaign at Cray.

Goals by Leigh Bremner (pictured) and Ross Lover either side of the break put Wanderers ahead and they held on to move seventh in the table, despite Danny Hockton's goal 10 minutes from time in a 2-1 scoreline.

Stones' defender Peter Hawkins was sent off in injury time.

Folkestone Invicta are just a place and two points ahead of Maidstone after they endured a long evening at AFC Hornchurch, going down 4-0 in Essex.

Jack Delo saved an early penalty but the hosts were 1-0 up at the break and added three goals in quick succession during the second half before James Everitt was shown a red card late-on for Invicta.

Tonbridge's upturn in fortunes continued with a 1-0 win at Margate which saw them leapfrog their Thanet rivals and climb up to 11th in the table.

Lee Browning scored the only goal 15 minutes from time to end Gate's unbeaten home record and make it back-to-back wins for the Angels for the first time this season.

Nine-man Sittingbourne went down 3-1 at Burgess Hill Town on Tuesday night after having to play more than an hour short-handed in Ryman League Division 1 South.

Sam Collins was dismissed for a sliding tackle on 24 minutes, but despite falling behind before the break, Nick Reeves levelled on 53 minutes with a fine strike only for the hosts to re-take the lead on 69 minutes and add a flattering third in stoppage time.

There was still time for Joe Horlock to see red for kicking a ball at a Town player before the final whistle.

Thamesmead also saw two players sent off but produced a fine 2-1 win at Heybridge Swifts in the FA Trophy Preliminary Round replay on Tuesday night.

After a 0-0 draw on Saturday, Heybridge struck first in the 36th minute and Mead striker Andy Constable was sent off after the interval but Gabriel Momodu equalised on the hour.

Lea Dawson struck the winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time but was shown a second yellow card for removing his shirt during his celebration.

Mead will now travel to fellow Ryman League Division One North side Great Wakering Rovers in the first round on October 16.
