Midfielder Charlie Lee will hopefully be back for Gillingham on Monday to face Rotherham United

A sickness bug denied Charlie Lee the chance of playing at Fleetwood but he could be back to face Rotherham.

Gillingham midfielder Lee (pictured) travelled with the team on Friday but was unable to play after pulling out with an illness.

Boss Martin Allen will now hope the 26-year-old is well enough to face Rotherham on Monday at Priestfield.

"Charlie Lee was supposed to play in central midfield (on Saturday) but he was sick with a virus. We had to change our team at 9am and Robinson came in and played."

Lee scored from the penalty spot in a midweek reserve game at Dagenham. His performance had earned him a return to the starting XI.

"Charlie Lee was superb on Tuesday and it’s just a shame he wasn’t able to play but hopefully now he will be able to on Monday," said Allen.

Andy Frampton is definitely missing as he serves the third and final game of his ban following the red card he picked up against Rochdale.
