The age of the machines has not arrived yet but a new exhibition should exterminate a few myths about technology in the 21st century.

A collection at Chatham’s Historic Dockyard will include items from the Will Smith film I, Robot, pictured above, and pieces by the creator of the Daleks.

Robot – A Collection of Robots, Cyborgs and Androids will bring visitors face to face with famous androids at the dockyard’s No. 1 Smithery: The Gallery.

On show will be the Planet Robot, thought to be inspired by Robby the Robot from the Forbidden Planet.

Film fans will recognise a vintage Robocop and a B9 robot torso made by Dalek builder Andy Shaw.

Fem-bots are also represented with the beautiful Grace, pictured left, in all her glory.

The exhibition runs from Monday, April 4 to Friday, June 17.
