Met police boss shortlist drawn up - and our chief's not on it

Kent Police Chief Constable Mike Fuller has been left off the shortlist for Met Police Commissioner.

Jane’s Police Review reveals acting commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson and Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland Sir Hugh Orde make up the final shortlist of two.

Final interviews for the £253,622 per year post will be conducted by the Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, before appointment by the Queen. The commissioner is expected to take up post in spring 2009, according to the Metropolitan Police Authority.
