Mercedes driver dies in crash

A THIRTY-year-old man was killed when his Mercedes crashed in Cranbrook last night. The tragedy happened on the A229 Angley Road, close to the junction with Sheafe Drive, at about 10.45pm.

It is understood no other vehicle was involved. Firefighters from Cranbrook and Hawkhurst were called but the man was not trapped and they were stood down.

The man was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells but was pronounced dead on arrival. He has not yet been named.
