Medway supermarket suffers volts shortage

The High Street, Grain branch of Co-op shop has been hit with an 'unconventional' power failure.

The shop has been hit since Thursday morning, when, at around 7am, store bosses called EDF about the level of volts on the shop's internal wiring network.

The volts were lower than normal, affected the applicances inside.

An EDF Energy spokesman said: "We sent an engineer to check and found that some equipment relating to the meter needs to be changed.

"Although we are not certain that our distribution network has caused the fault, we are undertaking the work, which should be completed today.

"This will help restore the volts to the correct level."
