Man's body found on cliffs

POLICE say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body on the cliffs at Ramsgate this morning.

The alarm was raised at about 6.15am when the body was found on the slope leading from the Royal Esplanade on the West Cliff to the promenade about 80ft below.

A police spokeswoman said: “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. The coroner will be informed and an inquest will be held.”

POLICE are investigating after a body was discovered on the cliffs at Ramsgate early today.

The alarm was raised at about 6.15am after the dead man was found on a slope leading from the West Cliff to the promenade 80ft below. The area has been cordoned off.

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers are at the scene but it is too early to discuss the circumstances surrounding the death.”

The coroner is being informed and an inquest will be held.
