THE body of a man has been recovered from the river at the Medway Wharf Marina at Wateringbury, near Maidstone (Helen Greener writes).

Police and fire crews were called to the marina in Bow Road. Water-trained firefighters from Larkfield used a boat to retrieve the body which is thought to have been in the water for some time.

The identity of the man has not yet been released but police say there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

The coroner is being informed and an inquest will be held.
