FIREFIGHTERS treated an elderly man for shock and smoke inhalation during a fire at his bungalow.

The blaze severely damaged some 80 per cent of the roof and the property in Woodview Close, West Kingsdown, near Dartford yesterday.

Two fire engines from Horton Kirby and Swanley were called to the blaze at about 3.45am. It took them about an hour to bring it under control.
