MOTORISTS faced misery after two separate crashes caused a Kent motorway to be closed twice.

A man had to be cut free from his vehicle after a crash involving a car and a lorry on the M20 at about 10.15am on Friday.

It happened between junction 4, at Leybourne, near West Malling, and junction 5 at Aylesford.

The coastbound side of the motorway was completely blocked, causing traffic jams across a wide area of north and mid Kent.

All three lanes of the motorway reopened at about midday.

Then, at 2.30pm on Friday, two HGVs collided in the London-bound carriageway between junction 2 (Wrotham) and junction 3 (Wrotham Heath) closing two lanes.
