Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in the neck by an intruder at his home.

The 56-year-old man was in his bungalow off Ashford Road, Bethersden, when someone entered at 11.15pm last Friday - but police have just released the details.

The occupant was punched and was stabbed to the neck. His attacker then fled. An ambulance crew was called to the scene and the victim, whose injuries were not said to be life-threatening, was taken to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital.

Police said the man was white, 5ft 10in and stocky. He was wearing a dark grey balaclava with a red line along the bottom and a thigh length, dark grey-coloured padded coat made from a matt waterproof material.
