Man seriously hurt in road crash

One man suffered serious head injuries and two other people were also hurt in a crash in the county.

The accident happened at around 10.20pm Wednesday in Hempstead Road, Hempstead, near Gillingham.

It involved two cars - a Citroen Saxo and a Honda Civic.

The emergency services were called to the scene and police closed the road for several hours while paramedics dealt with the injured. One man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

Firefighters also went to the scene as petrol has spilt onto the road.

A police spokesman said: "Three people were injured, two not seriously but one man suffered serious head injuries. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening, and he is in a serious but stable condition."

The road was reopened at 1.30am.
