A MAN who apparently fell to his death from the fourth floor of a building in Thanet on Thurday morning has been formally identified.

Relatives have named him as Jason Saunders, 38, who lived in a flat in Godwin Road, Cliftonville, near Margate, where the tragedy happened.

It has been disclosed that police officers were attending an address in Godwin Road to serve a court warrant at the time the death occurred.

A post mortem examination has concluded that Mr Saunders died from multiple injuries consistent with a fall. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is managing a Kent Police investigation into Mr Saunders’ death.

Kent Police notified the IPCC after the incident which is standard practice in such circumstances.

Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with his death.
