A MAN arrested on suspicion of possessing prohibited weapons has been released without charge.

Officers raided a house in Chestnut Street, Borden, near Sittingbourne on Wednesday by officers investigating the buying and selling of historic military weapons and munition on the Internet.

More than 40 officers were involved in the early morning raid, along with colleagues from the Ministry of Defence when they found Second World War weapons.

A house in Gillingham was also raided.

A police spokesman said: "Our enquiries are continuing."
